A quick turnaround in our 11 p.m. newscast was handled with ease. From breaking news to post-holiday travel, we were able to pack it all into the A-block.

This was my first time producing a midterm election. Here I had live coverage from the election headquarters in Bakersfield, the Republican watch party, and the Democratic watch party.

The show was ready when breaking news came to the news room.

I began with some breaking news of a Planet Fitness that was on fire in East Bakersfield.  No one was injured.
